Professor Hew Strachan, Chichele Professor of the History of War and Fellow of All Souls, is responsible for the University's The Changing Character of War programme.
Founded in 2004 thanks to the generosity of the Leverhulme Trust, the programme has embraced the disciplines of history, politics, philosphy, and law. It enjoys productive and close relationships not just with an international community of academics but also with practitioners.
