History is a longstanding strength of All Souls. This is reflected in the large number of Fellows and Visiting Fellows engaged on historical research. The research of Fellows and Visiting Fellows is diverse in period, region, theme and methodology. This breadth is reflected in the rich programme of History seminars, lectures and other events held in the College. Fellows’ and Visiting Fellows’ research is supported by the extensive holdings of the Codrington Library; the collections of early printed books and works on military history are particularly outstanding.
